Our Story

Short and Sweet

Hobby - 1. An activity done regularly in one’s leisure time for pleasure.

This is how we started. Deep in the heart of Katy, Texas. A hobby of mine for many years, woodworking was not a career or even part time business in my mind. That is until I found myself out of work one day in early 2020 due to a microscopic bug shutting down the worlds economy.

After being let go from my job, I found myself with WAY to much time on my hands and at the urging of my new neighbors (my family and I had just moved into a brand new home less than a month prior) I began to look at what it would truly take to turn this hobby into something more. Plus, my wife has been looking at me funny every time I came home with a new tool so I figured I needed a way to fund my habit!

I began by creating anything and everything that I could think of (and had the materials for on hand) and giving them to friends and family for feedback. Then came the process of refining the products and processes involved in production. The best part of my new home is that I am surrounded by no less than 3 crafters, 2 of which are just starting out like myself (with regards to a company, not their hobby) so we are leaning on each other to help build up our businesses and are able to call upon the others strengths to shore up where we are weak. I will provide a link to each of their websites and implore you to at least visit and see what they are doing.

They also greatly expand the capabilities and products that we can offer through our collaborations. They comprise a metal worker who specializes in custom kitchen knives, a highly skilled leather worker and one gentleman who recently acquired an Axiom CNC machine with Laser engraving capabilities!

Just take a look at some of their work!

Paul at 312 Bladeworks is almost certifiable for his attention to detail which transfers over and becomes apparent in how flawless his blades are when completed.

If you have made it this far, I thank you. Please, let us know what we can create for you next and from all of us here at B&S Woodcraft, we appreciate the opportunity to serve.

Warmest Regards,
